Fresh from a summer tour of Europe, Acoustic Routes presents Bloodshot Records recording artist Luke Winslow-King of New Orleans.
Luke is a singer, composer and lyricist known for his slide guitar work, and the New York Times describes his music as, “A boiled-down live, almost improvised sound that seamlessly melds Delta blues, gospel and jazz themes with personal, simplified lyrics that speak to his personal and artistic evolution.” Offbeat Magazine said, “Like all good troubadours, Winslow-King balances that blatant power with the sexy, sweet come-on lilt.”
Here are just a few examples:
A native of Cadillac, Mich., Winslow-King is especially well known to audiences in Ann Arbor and Saline, with regular appearances at The Ark, Sonic Lunch and Acoustic Routes. He has also shared the stage with the likes of Jack White, Pokey Lafarge and Taj Mahal.
The cover is is $15 at the door and all proceeds go directly to the artist.
